Projects: Seaforth Residence
Urban Energy designed, supplied and installed a complete heating and hot water system with pool heat rejection to a new luxury residential development in North Sydney.
Working in conjunction with the client, Sanctum Design Consultants and North Residential Constructions, Urban Energy delivered a Solar Gas boosted combination Hydronic and Domestic hotwater system in a new luxury multi-level residential property.
Urban Energy’s in house engineering team designed a solution that would provide hydronic underfloor heating throughout the residence and would exceed the hot water requirements of a family across the kitchen, laundry, family bathroom, 2 ensuites and pool shower.
The Urban Energy system comprises of a Latento heat exchange storage tank, 4 solar thermal evacuated tube banks, a highly efficient Bosch 32 condensing boiler with 221m2 of underfloor hydronic heating. With 4 banks of evacuated tubes on the roof maximising the Suns contribution to the hydronic heating during the winter months, this means that during the summer the excess energy is diverted to the pool via a 75w titanium heat exchanger.
The building and is zoned in to 8 areas with separate thermostatic controllers complete with a programmable central control pad allowing the client to manage the system from a central point.
The solar contribution from the evacuated tubes Urban Energy provides makes over a 46% yearly contribution to the hot water and heating requirements of the residence, providing the client with an average yearly CO2 reduction of 16,425kg.
